Northern Ireland Road Safety Champions Honoured

Road Safe NI, the Northern Ireland road safety charity were delighted to once again host the Northern Ireland Road Safety Awards during road safety week 2021. The winners of the awards included individuals, organisations and special projects from across the voluntary, education, emergency services, public and business sectors.

The NI Road Safety Awards, now in their seventh year, are organised by the Charity, Road Safe NI in partnership with leading accident management specialist, CRASH Services.  The awards were presented by media partner U105’s Frank Mitchell. A total of 12 awards were presented at a lunchtime event attended by 80 specially invited guests, including Minister Nichola Mallon who closed the ceremony along with a specially arranged rendition of the sound of silence by the very talented Choir Studio.  The event took place at the prestigious Cultra Manor, Holywood on Friday 19th November 2021.

Davy Jackson from ROAD SAFE NI said “We had a fantastic response to the awards again, with a record number of entries, considering we are still very much amidst a global pandemic.   We are delighted to play our part in recognising the grass roots work that is happening across the various sectors throughout Northern Ireland and the Road Safety Awards honour those people and organisations that go the extra mile to promote road safety.   The winning entries really stood out for their commitment over a long period of time and for delivering innovative projects. 

“There is so much good work going on across our schools, local communities, voluntary sector, emergency services and businesses.  The award winners are an inspiration to others and there is no question their efforts are saving lives on the road”.
