Road Safe NI would like to invite all primary schools in Northern Ireland to participate in our upcoming Northern Ireland Regional Road Safety Poster Competition aimed at Primary 5 children.

Children and young people are a high-risk group on the roads and throughout lockdown, more families and children are using the roads for exercise, therefore our aim is to educate children on road safety through a variety of road safety campaigns throughout the year.

The Poster competition is aimed at Primary 5 pupils and the closing date for the competition is Friday 12th March 2021.  **CLOSING DATE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY 19th MARCH 2021**

Four winning posters will be chosen from each local Council District and prizes issued to winners.  The winning posters from each district will then go into a regional final where the top four posters are nominated for a Regional prize.

Posters entered into the competition will be utilised to promote Road Safety and may be displayed on Road Safe NI and partner organisations social media pages and websites.

There are two categories: Hand drawn category & digitally drawn category

Open Theme:  Children can choose their own road safety topic, (for eg hi-vis, seatbelts, mobile phones)

All entries are to be returned by email by Friday 12th March 2021.

If your School is interested in participating, please issue our poster to P5 Teachers / children / parents.  Posters can be photographed or scanned and submitted by email by either the school or parents.

Pupils can use our template below  if they wish.  Hand drawn posters must be A4 size and the name of the pupil and their school and town must be written on the front of each poster so we can determine the council district.

Please ensure the child’s name is written or typed onto their poster.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with local PCSP’s in various council districts on this project and the Abbey shopping centre which are supporting the Antrim and Newtownabbey District.  Thank you to our partners for their continued support with road safety projects.
